From Athlete to Lifelong Learner

 

I believe that everyone has the power to heal and empower themselves - and my books are written to help you discover just that.


My own journey has taken me down many paths. I began as a professional badminton player, winning the UK's first Olympic medal in the sport in 2000. The discipline and resilience I learned through sport continue to shape everything I do today.

Exploring Healing and Teaching

After retiring from competition, I worked in education as a teaching assistant and exams officer, supporting young people as they learned and developed. 

The pressures of working in schools, especially during the Covid years, made me step back and reconsider my priorities. I've always believed that we are stronger than we know so I turned toward alternative healing. I began training in Chinese medicine before moving into Reiki, where I became a Master practitioner, and Biomagnetic Pairs Therapy. 

These practices deepened my passion for helping people unlock their own inner resources for wellbeing.

Discovering Writing

 

Even with this work, I often felt limited - able to reach only a small number of people at a time. I had always thought about writing a book but I held back believing that everything had already been said.

 

That changed when someone reminded me: "Only you can write from your perspective." Around the same time, I listened to a podcast by Dr Rongan Chattergee who explained how he could help far more people through his books and podcasts than in short consultations.

 

Those words struck a chord and I realised that writing could be my way to share tools, ideas and encouragement with many more people. 

My Mission as an Author

 

My books reflect the subjects that interest me and the areas where I feel I can genuinely offer support.

 

Whether it's building essential life skills, navigating ADHD, creating calm through journaling and creative tools or future books, the common thread is this: helping people discover their own capacity for change.

I want every reader to feel capable of shaping their own future - beginning with their thoughts, choices and attitudes.
